The movie has reportedly surpassed 9 Crores mark in it's first weekend run.

About 2018 Movie
The movie 2018 starring huge Malayalam superstars such as Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Lal, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Aparna Balamurali is written and directed by Jude Anthony Thomas along with Akhil P Dharmajan and is based on 2018 Kerala floods which affected a million people in the state and about 450 had died during the 3 continuous days of flooding.

It is reported that the early occupancy on first Monday is quite high and this points to a sureshot win for the movie in the box office. Some box office experts are also hoping that the movie 2018 may emerge as the biggest malayalam blockbuster of 2023 and may end the drought faced by malayalam film industry from the past many years since the pandemic. So far, multi-starrer Romancham directed by Jithu Madhavan is the only malayalam film to even manage to break even, earning around 70 Crores in its total theatrical run.
